Remove all doubt: Senator Landrieu’s attack on pro-lifers

In January 2009, I posted my letter to, and response from Senator Mary Landrieu regarding her vote to repeal the Mexico City Policy.  As will find by reading the original response, she did nothing to address my comments on her vote.

However, she did try to sell me a bill of goods about how pro-life she is by stating the following:

“As you may know, I voted to institute a ban on partial birth abortions as well as human cloning in the 108th Congress. In my role as Chair of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, I have worked hard to create a healthy, functional, and well-resourced adoption system that offers a viable alternative to women struggling with an unwanted pregnancy. […]  By concentrating our focus on reducing the number of unplanned pregnancies in America, we will in turn reduce the number of abortions.”

In April 2009, Senator Landrieu in a roll call vote, voted against the Coburn Amendment No. 828 which would “protect the freedom of conscience for patients and the right of health care providers to serve patients without violating their moral and religious convictions.”

As stated in my previous post, Senator Landrieu has a history of voting pro-abortion, and it is safe to say that voting to essentially force medical professionals to perform abortions is a blatant declaration of abortion-at-any-cost.

According to Landrieu’s record, not only must the pro-lifer’s tolerate that abortion is perpetrated in the United States, but that we must pay for it and we must commit the abortions against our will.  The only step left in the Canon at the Altar of Abortion is forced abortions and sterilizations, which aren’t far off, considering both are championed by President Barack Obama’s “Science Czar” (his words, not mine) John Holdren.
