The Life in Your Years…

It’s been said that it isn’t the years in your life that count, but the life in your years. Three precious teenage Airline High School girls poignantly demonstrated that at their funeral services today. Though I did not know any of these girls, Emily Perdue, Katy Watkins, and Molly Reed were remarkable young ladies. Even in death, their lives of service to others and love for the Lord rang out as a clarion call for people of all ages to seek the things that matter most in life…..faith in Christ, devotion to family, and loyalty to friends.

Sometimes we adults can become so “self” centered, power hungry, and materialistic, that we compromise our faith, sacrifice our family, and discard our friends. This is particularly true in the world of politics. The deaths of these girls should serve as a reminder that none of us are promised another day on this Earth, and that the choices we make today will echo throughout eternity.

Thank you Emily, Katy, and Molly. Through your lives, others were blessed. Through your deaths, eternal destinies have been changed.
